Starting Your Day Right with Jamaican Coffee Magic

Unveiling the Art of Starting Your Day Right with Jamaican Coffee Magic

The COVID pandemic has taught us that now there is a different way of doing things. Working from home is the new way of life for some people. Sometimes, we tend to ignore our routines and are only driven by our need to submit reports or meet deadlines. This article hopes to guide you to find an excellent way to start your day to be productive, especially with a cup of Jamaican Coffee Club‘s coffee in your hand.

The first step to start your day is to Wake up! Simple,  right? So let us begin by looking at the when and how of waking up. As kids, we learned the rhyme “Early to bed,” which is supposed to make us wealthy, healthy, and wise. Several studies have proven that higher productivity is reached by waking up early, and some wealthy persons have confirmed that they rise early as a habit; therefore, we can conclude the rhyme may be right. However, we all know that if you wake up early and spend all the time doing nothing productive, you will not achieve anything. That is to say, that early rising is good, but there is more to do to have a productive day.

Now to the HOW.  An expression that cannot be overused is “waking up on the right side of the bed.” That is to say, that to start your day correctly, you need to wake up strong and energized or find a way to get into your wired zone for your day to proceed right.  One thing science has taught us is that our bodies have a natural clock that guides our sleep and wake cycles (Circadian rhythm). It is that mechanism that makes you feel sleepy as the night draws close and wakes your body up even before your alarm clock buzzes, and this rhythm is responsive to light. When this rhythm is respected, you have a higher chance of waking right.

Assuming you choose to wake up at 5:30 am every day, then the key is to stick to this time and to select a sleeping time that will allow you to have not less than four complete sleep cycles. The typical sleep cycle lasts about 90minutes. After you wake up, the next thing is to check in with yourself, and this brings us to step 2

Meditation

Take it from me; at least 5 minutes of meditation every morning can dramatically change your life. Meditation can be spiritual, yoga, mindfulness, or just breathing awareness, whichever one you choose, the key is to practice it every day. We all tend to want to get moving, but these first few minutes of quietness help you to check in with yourself, pray, if you believe in it or build focus. Meditation triggers the production of the feel-good hormone called endorphins hence the feeling of wellness you get after a good reflection. Now you are in your feel-good zone; it is time for step 3:

Rehydrate your body:

Drinking water when you wake up is necessary to keep your body hydrated and to detoxify your system. There are several arguments on the temperature of the water and what time the water should be taken. However, one thing everyone agrees is that water plays a critical role, and the minimum intake is 8 cups per day. Finally,

Energize your body:

This is the Physical aspect of starting your day correctly. Your body needs the energy to move and function for the day, You can provide fuel through 3 significant ways:

Exercise:

Morning exercise boosts your body’s metabolism, which results in the release of energy that can keep you going through the day. It also triggers the release of endorphins, reinforcing the feeling of wellness and improving your energy levels. A walk,  run, stretch, or aerobics can get your body ready for the day. Not to forget that you become more alert when you exercise

Breakfast:

Breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day. Skipping breakfast reduces your body metabolism, and this can be detrimental if you want to lose weight and feel energized for the day. An ideal breakfast should be of moderate proportion and wholesome. Great options include eggs, oatmeal, and avocados.

Coffee:

Coffee is the best beverage to start your morning. Packed with many nutrients and antioxidants, it starts the process of clearing free radicals from the body. Coffee contains caffeine that causes the release of adrenaline. This hormone keeps you alert and active. Coffee, when taken in moderate proportions, has also been shown to be protective of the heart and the liver. A reasonable daily intake is of 3-5 cups. Injecting this energizer into your day will guarantee alertness and drive for the day. It does not matter if you prefer it dark or creamy; it works the same.

An African proverb says, whenever you wake up is your morning, so, good morning!
